Most Guilds are just led by idiots, who don't give anything about members of the Guild, but just about the winning and losing, my advice: Start your own Guild, with your friends. You wont have that problem anymore, you can buy the Guild Hall together and you can just play for fun, not to win.

My suggestions would be to look for people advertising guilds with the following criteria:
Good use of english - If you see someone advertising for a guild with the likes of "U want 2 join da best guild in da gamez?!!!11" steer clear. Funny/professional advert - Guilds that have joke advertisements ("Join Us today and receive a free carebear! Over 2 happy customers so far!") are likely to be less serious and more interested in having fun together, or professional looking ones ("Join US today. We offer cape/guildhall/website/teamspeak if required. Whisper for more details!") should be willing to answer questions about their guild so you can get some sense of what you're getting into before joining. Things you're looking for in a guild (PvP/PvE/teamspeak server/website/forums/etc). I always find following these little steps helps a lot in picking out a guild. |

Well, you should not have ANY trouble finding another guildsince guilds recruting in Ascalon or Lions Arch are as common as seeing Coke in a Supermarket. I still say that ppl should not be able to form guilds so easy, I think you should have at LEAST ascended first. Everyone wanst to be the guild leader so they make their own and have like 2 members.
I try to recruit and its slow going, I am an officer and I usually get this... "I'll join only if I am an officer." Well I am not the leader who should make that decision sooooo..... Officers should have experience with the guild and shown they know the game and is helpful. We have one guy I want to see made an officer SO bad. Another problem is this that my guild has. We have all now gotten to the post ascended and or completed the game, now we wana focus on GvG but still play PvE. My guild rank is LOW like below 3,500 and ppl ask what the rank is when i tell them they are like no thanks. They want top 10 like NOW! It is a low rank but b4 I can tell them that literally 1 or 2 wins will make us like top 1000 and then 4 wins top 500 probably they have their mind set. We played 3 matches, first one was just 2 members playing to experiment and see what it was like, it was versus a noob guild of lvl 8 players, second they tried again using henchies against lvl 20's guess the outcome LOL. third we had 4 members and 4 henchies against 6 members and 2 henchies and we lost....barely. My guild has everything a player could ask for, yet hard to get friendly ppl who play and want to win, yet fun should exceed all. We GIVE items we find to members of that profession, I personally have given away 40K in all to members to help them aquire new armors, we assist each other in PvE like nobodys buisness and nobody bitches!!!!! Oh well their loss. |

Same thing, guild rank is falling for us, was like 600 now its 2,500. But thats because we are not going to touch GvG anymore till we get new members.
We dont adverstise either, if someone is gatting in, they are getting in by invite. I'd suggest you go to one of your ingame freinds and start asking him about his guild, and see if you can apply to be in it. |

I have to agree with a lot of the others who posted. Being kicked for missing 1 PvP match is a little lame and childish.
If your atill looking for a guild you can check NEWB out. We're a bunch of friends from many other games and found our way to GW now. We do Pvp, PvE and just screw around. We're here to have fun with the game. if it isnt fun, there isnt a point. Good luck on finding a guild to suit your needs. Edit: Sorry Scaphism, didnt know that was a rule. Well, don't know if I can say this. But I am the one who invited you to the second guild. I thought you were nice and all but it turned out you were a complete jerk to everyone. While we were pvping together, you were a sore loser and a even worse winner. Every win we had you had a comment "Suck my b*lls" or something to the losing team.
Then when we were planing a gvg you said you wanted to come, we told you we don't want a fire elementalist in our build and if you wanted to gvg with us, you had to go change your build to a air ele or something we could use. We never forced you to or anything. When we aksed you to do that, you just imideatly started saying "fire pwns air" and related stuff. Eventualy you pissed another officer off enough that he booted you. Last edited by Eskimo Bob; Jul 06, 2005 at 06:38 PM // 18:38.. |

True that is sad to hear that poeple cant just play the game. We had a guild member that did not fit my guild build. Not to say he was a bad person just didnt fit the type of player we were looking for. A guild and it members are a joint relationship that requires a semi-understanding between players. ie I as a Warrior am a geat meat shield for PVE but for PVP I built Elementlist to help the guild out. We dont all ways use the same players in our GVG team and we try to show respect to all teams we play in GVG. Remenber that there is a human being behind the keyboard playing the game and what you do on the screen reflects the type of person you are.

The best way to get into a good guild is by playing with them. Every now and then in Tombs, Arena or even PvE an all (or nearly all) guild-team is looking for another guy to join them.
So you can see if you get along with them, it helps to be on TS with them... I'd never join a guild just because they advertise themselves... |

The best way about finding a guild is befriending some people, and joining into a guild together with them. UNLESS you want a drop dead serious pvp guild going for top 10 and not caring about anything else .... for me, guild is meant to be fun, and to get fun company to play the game with.
I'm in a guild with a bunch of friends that moved to GW from another game so I don't even understand many problems discussed here, I've never had them ... we always help each other out, share items we don't need, and just talk about silly things in the guild chat. Enlarging such guilds is a tricky business though - one different person can change the whole atmosphere. Like Sir Hawke said: "A guild and it members are a joint relationship that requires a semi-understanding between players." When a player is ruining your guild's atmosphere, it's better to boot them out to preserve the fun for all the other guildies. |

Booting out is the guild's privilege - the only thing I would reccomend is explaining reason to people you're booting. If they listen, in the end you'll break up on good terms. If they don't, well at least you tried.
Actually, when someone gets booted repeatedly I usually think it can't be only the guild's problem. Also, a thread named "stupid guilds" is not an index of a level mind on the subject - that is why I'm pretty confident that Eskimo's comment is not far from truth, also his level mindedness convinces me more. And that is precisely why I answered as I did the first time. Good Manners are paramount importance when it is only through those that people can know you. I wish more people realized that. Just my .02! |

Judging from Eskimo Bob's superior control of the English language, I'll have to side wirh him. You were obviously, are you are now, speaking in an immature manner. I see no evidence why the Officer should not of booted you.
